AVL - Alabama Virtual Library

The Alabama Virtual Library provides all students, teachers, and citizens of the State of Alabama with online access to essential library and information resources. It is primarily a group of online databases that have magazine, journal, and newspaper articles for research. Through the AVL, information sources are available to every student and citizen in Alabama, raising the level of excellence in schools and communities across the state.

Interlibrary Loan Service

The public libraries in Pickens County are able to locate and borrow materials from all over the United States for library patrons. New materials published within the last year are excluded from this service. Materials that can usually be borrowed include books, periodical articles, pamphlets, microfilm, and other items. Free Computer Access

All public libraries in Pickens County offer access to the internet during regular business hours. Software programs, such as Microsoft Word and Excel are available. Patrons may also surf the net, set up an email address, conduct research, or take online classes. All users must have a library card in good standing.
